I.P. Statement
1. Purpose
This statement sets out Orecast's position on intellectual property (IP) — both in relation to our website and in the context of client engagements.
2. Website content
All material published on orecast.com.au is the intellectual property of Orecast or used under licence. This includes:
- The Orecast name and logo.
- The CORE-5 methodology, including its structure, terminology, and supporting diagrams.
- All frameworks, processes, and explanatory content published on the site.
- All case study content, except where client IP or confidential information is shared with permission.
3. Use of our content
You may:
- View and reference our content for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- Share links to pages on our website.
- Quote short excerpts with clear attribution to Orecast.
You may not:
- Reproduce, copy, or republish substantial portions of our content without written permission.
- Use our name, logo, methodologies, or trade marks to imply endorsement or affiliation.
- Adapt or repackage our frameworks or diagrams for commercial use.
4. Client engagements
Intellectual property arising during a client engagement is addressed in the relevant engagement agreement. As a general principle:
- Orecast retains ownership of its underlying methodologies, tools, model structures, and know-how.
- Clients receive a licence to use bespoke deliverables — including final financial models — for their intended purpose.
- Client data, confidential information, and project-specific inputs remain the property of the client.
Where an engagement involves third-party IP (for example, licensed software, published commodity forecasts), use of that IP is governed by the relevant third-party terms.
5. Permissions and enquiries
To request permission to use Orecast IP, or to report suspected infringement, contact andy@orecast.com.au.
